In early June, we discussed some of the best golf swing analyzer apps for Android devices, but we knew we couldn’t stop there. Those of you with iPhones were left out on your own, and that just won’t do. So, here it is — our list of the best golf swing analyzer apps for iOS, available through iTunes.
Swing Profile Golf
Free trial version, $29.99 for full version
Swing Profile Golf is one of those equipment-free apps, but if you’ve got a buddy who’s good with an iPhone camera, this app can help you iron out the problems in your swing. The free version allows you to try out all its features on 40 swings, but you’ll have to register if you want to use it after that. Swing Profile auto-detects your swing, cutting out excess footage. Once your swing is recorded, the software automatically generates swing sequences in real time, adding swing plane drawings and storing your swing stats for later use.
Swingbot: Golf Swing Video Analysis Coach

Using either the front or back camera on your iPhone, Swingbot checks 108 points on your body throughout your swing to complete its analysis. Automatic interpretation by the app is available, or you can choose to pay for optional personalized coaching from golfing coaches around the world. Developed with the help of PGA Certified Master Professionals, Swingbot goes beyond simply analyzing your swings and adds helpful advice and develops individual golf lessons tailored to your game.
iPing Putter App
Free Download, requires $30 device
When the swing you really need analyzed is your putt, the best golf swing analyzer app for the job may be the iPing Putter App. By attaching the iPing’s device just below the grip on your putter, the stroke type, impact angle and tempo of your putts are carefully recorded and over time, your Putting Handicap is established. Unlike other swing analyzers that assume you’re doing something wrong, the iPing instead tells you what type of putter is best for your stroke type. Although they’ll be recommending Ping products, you can take that data and compare similar models from your favorite putter manufacturer.
SkyCaddie SkyPro Golf Swing Analyzer

If you’re looking for an incredible amount of data about your swing with any club, the SkyCaddie SkyPro Golf Swing Analyzer is the iOS app you need right now. Coupled with a small sensor, this app creates an animated model of your swing and allows you to store lots of swings for comparison to each other later. Examine your swing from a number of angles, compare swing statistics and get feedback from the app based on the data you’re feeding it. This is one of the best golf swing analyzer apps we’ve seen for iOS, but it’s also the most expensive.
Once you’ve got your new favorite iOS app loaded up and ready to go, you can easily compare your swing using different clubs or grips.
