Congratulations to Danny Willett, the winner of the 2016 Masters! I’m sure you’d like to know what’s in the winner’s bag. No need to look any further. We’ve compiled a list with links so you too can own the same equipment as a champion!
WITB – Danny Willet’s Clubs and Golf Ball
Driver: Callaway XR 16
The Callaway XR 16 Driver features R•MOTO Face Technology on the bottom that removes weight from the club head to increase ball speeds across the face. On top of the club head you get the Speed Step Crown which is a raised area that helps with aerodynamics and drag over the head. The center of gravity is low and back so the club is stable and very forgiving. The club also features an OptiFit adjustable neck that allows you to change loft and dial-in the direction you want.
Fairway Woods: Callaway XR 16
Utilizing a Hyper Speed Cup Face, the Callaway XR Fairway Wood is thinner which increases ball speeds across the face and creates a larger sweet spot. If you miss the effective sweet spot then the drop-back in distance is better so you’ll see more consistent shots. The center of gravity has been moved 20% lower and a little bit forward for more forgiveness. An Advanced Aerodynamic head reduces drag and allows air flow to slide easily over the club’s upper surface.
Utility: Callaway Apex (2 & 4)
The Callaway Apex Hybrids look like a set of irons with its deeper, longer face. This club is made for the better player and is for people who want their hybrids to blend in with their irons. There’s a weight in the middle of the club head for a center of gravity that’s positioned in the middle. Forged Cup Face technology increases ball speeds for faster center and off-center hits. The Internal Standing Wave positions the weight in a more optimum area for versatility and precision.
Irons: Callaway Apex Pro (5-9)
With a slim sole and topline, the Callaway Apex Pro Iron Set has fantastic sharp lines and a nice grooved face for a Tour-inspired design. These irons have a classic look geared toward the better player. A tungsten insert lowers the center of gravity in the lower irons (3-5) while the center of gravity is progressively higher in the shorter irons (6-P). When you hit the ball you’ll get a feel that’s soft off of the face.
Wedges – Callaway MD 2 (47, 54, 58)
Callaway cut the sole back to keep the Mack Daddy 2 Wedges flat against the ground when setting up at address. These irons are forged with 1020 carbon steel for super soft feel around the greens. There’s a ton of laser milled micro-grooves on the face that produce 25% more spin out of the rough. The wedges produce exceptional spin from multiple playing conditions on the course.
Putter: Odyssey Versa #1 Wide
The Odyssey Versa #1 Wide is a compact heel-toe weighted putter. It has a more traditional shape and high contrast coloring for helping with alignment. The silver and black contrast keeps your eyes on the linear designs to highlight the proper face angle. A firm meshed insert provides more feel and faster roll. The insert also reduces skidding and gets the ball into a pure roll faster.
Ball: Callaway SR3
Designed for tour level golfer, the Callaway Speed Regime 3 Golf Balls are for players with a swing speed of over 105 mph. The golf balls are engineered to minimize high speed drag and low speed lift. A hallmark of this new Callaway golf ball is its soft feel, a feat accomplished by its soft urethane cover. Its HEX aerodynamic pattern further reduces drag, increasing distance and accuracy.
