How do I know which ladies driver is right for me?

There’s a lot of clubs to consider but we’ve made it easy. Here are our three top choices:

How did we select these three? Simple. There are four important characteristics to acknowledge.

How to Choose the Right Ladies Driver: 4 Tips to Remember

1. Graphite, the way to go.

The most important characteristic is weight. The best women’s clubs are graphite. And graphite swings fast. Men’s clubs tend to made out of steel because men swing stronger and have a quicker tempo.

2. Shaft length matters.

A ladies driver is about 1-inch shorter than a men’s driver due to a woman’s smaller stature. The standard length for a ladies driver is 43.5 inches. Remember, proper club length is important for maximizing swing power and ball control.

3. Slower swings, higher loft.

Most major club makers make ladies drivers with high lofts because women have a slower swing speed. Because of this, a woman should choose a driver with a loft of 12 to 16 degrees (or more). Fact: the typical female recreational golfer swings at an average speed of 64 mph.

4. Say yes to adjustability.

To play or not to play with an adjustable driver? The answer depends on the golfer. But one thing’s for sure – you can get a more precise fit by being able to change a driver’s loft, lie and weight. Adjustable drivers offer more flexibility.

Whatever driver you buy, don’t choose a men’s club if you’ve got a lady’s touch. There are differences.

We’ve highlighted the distinctions in this article.

Happy driver hunting.
